Going away to college is one of the most exciting times in your life. You are excited and maybe just a little scared, and you aren’t sure what to expect. The last thing you should be worried about is forgetting something at home.

If you haven’t already invested in some solid rain gear, let me do you the BIGGEST favor of your college life. Pick these up ASAP if you haven’t already.
This Northface Raincoat is my personal favorite and lasted me through college and beyond. You also absolutely need a solid pair of rainboots, and the investment in a good pair is worth it.
Next, we need shower gear. Save yourself (and your feet) the foot fungus and get a pair of shower shoes. We definitely want to avoid the type that go between your toes, because when they get wet they’re super uncomfortable, and we don’t need that mess in our lives.
Having a towel that velcro closed was a LIFE saver. Forget trying to hold your towel up, carry your shower caddy, and unlock your dorm room. This velcro towel closes so you can snap it in place and walk comfortably and securely back to your room!
And finally, a cute caddy to carry all of your shower supplies in. I love the plastic ones because they’re easy to keep clean and mold-free. The mesh ones tend to get really nasty after a few months.
Next we have to make sure all your tech items are cared for! Keep a portable charger in your backpack so when you stop at the library between classes or have a long break to waste time, you don’t have to worry about keeping your phone charged.
You also are going to want to make sure you keep your laptop safe in your backpack next to big textbooks and supplies. A laptop sleeve keeps your laptop safe when bringing it to classes!
If you think your dorm room will have an abundance of outlets- I hate to say it, but you’re sadly mistaken. Get yourself a good surge protected outlet.
A Single Cup coffee maker will help you get out of bed and to your 8 am lecture, and it will hopefully even keep you awake during it!
While having an Essential Oil Diffuser Set may not seem like an essential, it definitely may help ease normal stress and anxiety that just comes along with college.
You’ll definitely want a wireless Bluetooth speaker for your room! This will make getting ready fun and studying tolerable. This one is also waterproof, so feel free to take it on Spring Break!
You’ll always want to keep a good water bottle on you while walking to and from classes, especially during the fall and spring warmer months.
Keep a small emergency first aid kit in your backpack, and you hope you’ll never need it but will have it in case you do!
And finally, keep a steamer to solve wrinkles with ease in a time crunch! Have to wear your one pair of dress pants for a class presentation but they’ve been shoved in a duffle since you moved in? Not a problem!!!
